Our history

1992
Engineering firm of Rödenbeck & Heinze is founded, concentrating chiefly on design and engineering services for the machine tool industry

1995
Founding of SPL GmbH to develop and manufacture spindle units with hydrodynamic bearings under licence from the Göttingen-based company of SARTORIUS AG

1996 onwards
Development of belt-driven spindle units with rolling element bearings and grinding spindles with hydrostatic bearings

1997 onwards
Development of motor spindles for lathes

1998 onwards
Development of  motor spindles for milling machines as well as high-frequency motor spindles for grinding machines

1999-2001
Participation in the research project ‘Trial and Optimisation System for the Application of High-Frequency Motor Spindles’
 
2000 onwards
Development of high-performance bearings for motor test rigs
2001 onwards
Participation in the InnoSachs project ‘Innovative Components for High-Performance Machine Tools’

2002-2003
Takeover of the spindle manufacturing business of HAUSER HSC GmbH

Move to new purpose-built factory. Commissioning of newly developed test rig facilities
